• See a movie/show (or even a whole list of movies/shows) in some picture or browsing social media, etc? Ask Siri to add them to your Cinephile library! This will work both with text and images as well.
• Type a search in natural language, like “90s comedies with Jim Carrey” and Cinephile will run a smart search for you!
• There's a new “For You” section in the search and discovery screen that will give you recommendations based on media you've watched and have rated highly
• You can now enter a prompt for the on-device LLM model (completely private; no information ever leaves your phone) describing what you're in the mood for. Example: “A cyberpunk movie similar to Bladerunner”, and the algorithm will match you with appropriate titles. You will then play a swipe mini-game (Tinder-like) where you decide what you liked or disliked.

• Cinephile on your wrist! Say hello to the new Apple Watch companion, from where you can see and track movies and shows from your queue.
• When recent movie releases are announced to come to a digital platform, you'll now see where and when on the movie's details screen. You can then even opt to be notified upon release.
• When using the compact list layout, you'll now see not just how many episodes are left, but also how much watch time remains.

Version 3.9 Released

• Added a "Watching Now" option that kicks off a timer with the movie/episode runtime and a corresponding Live Activity + widget intent.
• Dropped movies now carry more info. You can set at which point during the movie you gave up and that partial watch time contributes to your watch time statistics. It also gets recorded permanently in your watch history, so you can see not only when you dropped the movie but how far in you were when you dropped it.
• Rewatching a movie no longer means you necessarily record the rewatch immediately. You're now given options to send the movie to Up Next or For Later. If you choose "Rewatch Now" you can record the rewatch on the spot as before, or you can kick off the "Watching Now" timer.
• The rating/review sharing card is now available to share right from the summary prompt that appears when watching a movie.
• Fixed an issue where one-letter searches were impossible.
• Fixed an issue where shows that changed the episode count from TMDB were impossible to refetch the metadata for.

• This update brings some highly requested data import options! You can now effortlessly import your data from Letterboxd, Sofa Time, and TV Time's official data. When importing the latter, you can also bring in even your comments that you left in that community!
• Moreover, there are many other quality of life improvements in the app, such as the ability to hide an episode's thumbnail until it's watched, as well as auto-translation for replying to comments in the social feeds.

• Navigation in threads continues to improve. This update should start making the community section really feel more like a vibrant social media feed, with much better navigation, and better handling of the feed (no more having my welcome post always appear when sorting by popularity). This "popularity" has been relabeled to "trending now", and takes other things into account beyond just likes and comments. It also refreshes daily. My welcome post, and any future announcements I'll want to make, will appear as a dismissible pinned post that you can eliminate after seeing it once.
• There are new options for keeping always the tab bar (not hide it when scrolling), as well as to have the rating prompt after marking something as watched appear automatically without having tap on the popup. Note that by default the popup is still on (I very much prefer it), but the automatic sheet presentation is now an option you can choose if you so desire.
• Speaking of the popup, you can now do a lot more here, like mark as favorite, write a review, and VERY IMPORTANT, can navigate straight to the comments section form there to leave your two valuable cents.
• The "Releasing" section in the Home tab can now be configured to show only releasing movies, shows, or episode releases (or all of course, that's the default). A similar fix has been added to the "Schedule" (which has been relabeled to "Timeline" to better convey the meaning of this screen). In the Timeline, for future releases (from today forward) you will only see relevant media (watching episodes, wishlisted / for later movies, etc), while going backward in time you will see everything, since it's a timeline of all releases in your library.
• There are a LOT of privacy options now in your profile settings. You can now choose not just what to share, but WHO to share it with.
• The app has been fully localized to Turkish and Arabic.
• Fixed Trakt's sync problems that were introduced recently in a breaking API change on their end.

Version 3.0.1 Released

• No more having to navigate to Profile and then Feed. I've completely streamlined the approach. The tab has been relabeled to "Community" (still showing your profile picture) and now at the top level you can switch between your profile screen and the community feed, and the choice sticks.
• The feed now supports not only posts, but you will also see other users ratings and reviews (this is all completely configurable; you *can* choose to see only posts and hide ratings and reviews or vice versa... the choice is yours).
• Over in the profile view you now also show your heatmap, and can much more easily see followers and following users. *ALL* of this is user-configurable; you'll be able to hide followers/following count and users, just like you can also completely hide the heatmap... Every single thing shown here is completely up to you what you share or don't share.

Cinephile's highly requested community features are here! You are now able to create your social profile and start interacting with fellow cinephiles in the comments sections for movies, shows, and individual episodes! If you prefer your privacy, all community settings can be easily turned off and hidden in the app's settings.

Version 2.8.1 Released

• New widget with upcoming calendar for movie/show/episodes releases (configurable, long-press the widget to choose what to show)
• New "Haven't Started Yet" section in the Home queue, plus a revamped "Haven't Watched In A While" section. The latter can now be shown in either expanded mode (which matches the rest of the queue sections) or in compact mode. Compact mode is similar to the one you currently have, but improved to allow to mark an episode as watched right there.

• The launch sequence of the app has been improved to better handle iCloud sync during initialization. The app will now launch must faster.

• A fix was added for a bug that prevented the app from showing fresh episodes data if you had added the show before the episode's release.

Version 1.8.4 Released

So far we've had review sharing cards, but these are disabled if you haven't written a review. Now there are also rating cards where you can share just the rating, no review required. Furthermore, there are a few more quality of life improvements regarding watch dates: when choosing "On Air Date", you can now set an offset like "1 day after", etc. This is a useful shortcut... Moreover, for shows that drop the entire season at once (Netflix style), you can now specify some preset day spacing, so that choosing an exact date doesn't make *all* episodes marked as watched the same date. This would lead to less manual watch date setting for individual episodes.

• In the Statistics screen, the chart showing watch activity broken up by month is now interactive; you can tap and hold to see the activity for each month.
• The Watch History screen now has a chart too (also interactive) to help you visualize your watch history per day at a glance. Moreover, you can now tap on a day cell to collapse the watch activity for that specific day.
• Movies' release dates are now saved as theatrical releases based on the user's region (this can be overridden in the app's settings, if you so desire)

• The Search + Discover screen now includes a new feed organized by year of release. Pick a year to instantly explore the top movies and shows from that time, with curated results that are easy to scan.
• In the Search + Discover screen, you can now press and hold a movie or show cover directly in these screens to open a quick menu. From there, add it to your library immediately, without navigating to the movie or show details page.
