IMDB Migration Guide

You can move your IMDb activity into Cinephile by exporting the CSV files from IMDb and importing them from Cinephile's import section.

Before you start

Sign in to your IMDb account in a desktop browser before exporting. IMDb provides separate CSV exports for ratings and watchlist items, so you may want to export both files if you want the fullest migration possible.

1. Export your ratings

  1. Open IMDb and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Open the user menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Go to Your Ratings.
  4. Use the menu in the page header and choose Export.
  5. IMDb should download a file named ratings.csv.

2. Export your watchlist

  1. Stay in the Your Lists area on IMDb.
  2. Open Your Watchlist.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and choose Export this list.
  4. IMDb should download watchlist.csv.

4. Import the files into Cinephile

  1. Open Cinephile.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Open the Import section.
  4. Select IMDb as the source.
  5. Choose the CSV file or files you exported from IMDb.
  6. Start the import and let Cinephile process them.

After the import
